About the Exhibition
Each exhibition room is represented by nine gems regarded as “Gems of the Capital”. Upon entry, visitors will be greeted by a flock of birds that appears on the large LED Wall to reflect the splendor of Rattanakosin.

“Passage of Time”
recounts major historical events in Thailand and abroad from the first establishment of Rattanakosin until present. Chronologically presented, this passage of time invites all visitors to travel back to the past.Room 1
Room 1
“Grandeur Rattanakosin”
is represented by diamond. The prosperity of Rattanakosin started with King Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok Maharaj, the first reigning monarch of the Chakri Dynasty whose countless contributions have prospered the royal kingdom to this day.Room 2
Room 2
“Prestige of Kingdom”
is represented by topaz, the golden yellow colored gemstone reflecting architectural and artistic value of the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. In this part of the exhibition lies the miniature model of the entire Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha decorated in all three seasonal costumes.Room 3

“Remarkable Entertainment”
is represented by the red garnet that best conveys the delight of traditional Thai entertainment and plays which have always been fostered by the Kings of the Chakri Dynasty. Throughout the history of Rattanakosin, traditional entertainment is regularly organized to comfort all citizens in the kingdom.Room 4

“Renowned Royal Ceremonies”
is represented by white moonstone, the symbol of purity. Its delicate beauty is comparable to the royal ceremonies that are carried out with untainted body and soul leading to auspiciousness. Visitors will be provided with the history of the royal ceremonies that have historically existed in Thai society such as the Coronation Ceremony and the Royal Ploughing Ceremony.Room 5

“Graceful Architectures”
is represented by cat’s eye, the gemstone known for its durability. Such quality is comparable to the beautiful architectures of Rattanakosin whether they be royal palaces, temples or houses which stand unchanged against the course of time. Although architectural styles have developed and transformed in correlation with how people live their lives as a result of technological advancement, they still timelessly retain its value and beauty.Room 6

“Impressive Communities”
is represented by zircon to symbolize local communities throughout Rattanakosin that still maintain its identity and uniqueness regardless of time.Room 7

“Sight-Seeing Highlights or Urban Attractions”
is represented by mesmerizing green emerald which connotes prosperity. This part of the exhibition offers the opportunity for visitors to explore popular attractions in Rattanakosin and experience their unforgettable charm.Room 8

“The Colorful Thai Way of Living”
is represented by ruby which reflects the grandeur of Rattanakosin, the local wisdom, art, culture and customs since its beginning to present.Room 9
