Nitasrattanakosin is housed in the former Building No.1 on Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, the location which is historically regarded as entrance to the royal capital and could be compared to the gateway to rich cultural heritage of Rattanakosin Island. The Crown Property Bureau recognizes that such prominent location of the building would be ideal for the development of a learning center. As the repository of knowledge about Thai history, customs, culture and the monarchy, Nitasrattanakosin presents all contents through various model and simulation mediums. The adoption of virtual four-dimensional media, multi-touch and interactive multimedia animation for self-learning are purposely for educating Thai audience about national ancestral roots and inspiring them to preserve Thai cultural heritage. Apart from local Thais, Nitasrattanakosin would as well be a place of attraction for tourists. It is where they could learn the foundation knowledge and gain basic understanding about the history of Rattanakosin era before they experience the real settings.
